With a stout dating back to 1856, Murphy’s wanted to tap into its brand’s history for its arrival in the U.S. Since Murphy’s isn’t as well-known as other stouts, we had the unique opportunity to start fresh and make the design look different than anything else on the market, to help the brand stand out. This visual imitates old boxing posters to highlight the fighting spirit of Ireland and Murphy’s. To add to the vintage feel, I hand distressed the type and design to make this look really come to life. This came to life in two waves, a generic version for all markets, followed by a St. Patricks Day specific look surrounding the holiday.
